Ten Hagen, W., 2008. Beitrag zur Kenntnis des genus Callophrys Billberg, 1820: eine neue Art aus südiran (Lepidoptera: Lycaenidae). [Contribution to the knowledge of the genus Callophrys Billberg, 1820: a new species from southern Iran (Lepidoptera: Lycaenidae)]. Nachr. entomol. Ver. Apollo N.F. 29(1/2): 9-14 (2008).
Abstract: A new species of the genus Callophrys Billberg, 1820 is described from southern Iran, province Kerman: Callophrys naderii sp. n. (holotype male at present in coll. Ten hagen, will be deposited in coll Senkenberg-Museum, Frankfurt am Main, Germany). The new species shows a dark brown upperside of the wings and can be recognized by the following characters: 2-3 processi of equal size on hindwing margin instead of a single prominent lobus; green scales on the underside extended also on the fringes; apex of forewing rounded. The form of the ostium bursae of the female genital is characteristic for the taxon. The new species seems to be associated with rose bushes (Rosaceae) in the Kuhha Qohrud mountains at about 2000-3000 m altitude.

Ten Hagen, W., 2008. Tarucus nara (Kollar, [1848]) und andere Arten des Tarucus Moore, [1881] in Iran (Lepidoptera: Lycaenidae) [Tarusus nara (Kollar, [1848]) and other species of the genus Tarucus Moore, [1881] in Iran (Lepidoptera: Lycaenidae)]. Nachr. entomol. Ver. Apollo N.F. 29(1/2): 19-23 (2008).
Abstract: The occurance of Tarucus nara (Kollar, [1848]) in sutheasternmost parts of Iran is confirmed. males of the species can be distinguished by the larger discoidal spot of forewings, genitalia and further characteristics from Tarucus rosaceus (Austaut, 1885), which has been found syntopical and synchronous. Distribution and morphology of Tarucus balkanicus (Freyer, 1845) in Iran is described. The potential occurance of further taxa of the genus in Iran is discussed.

Mark, H.G., Ten Hagen, W. and Back, W., 2007. Eine neue Unterart von Euchloe (Elphinstonia) ziayani Leestmans & Back, 2001 in Zentraliran: karkasica ssp. n. (Lepidoptera: Pieridae). [A new subspecies of Euchloe (Elphinstonia) ziayani (Leestmans & Back, 2001) in Central Iran: karkasica ssp. n. (Lepidoptera: Pieridae).] Nachr. entomol. Ver. Apollo N.F. 29(1/2): 1-8 (2008).
Abstract: A new subspecies of Euchloe (Elphinstonia) ziayani Leestamns & Back, 2001 is described from the eastern Zagros mountains in central Iran (Prov. Esfahan, Kuh-e Karkas): Euchloe (Elphinstonia) ziayani karkasica ssp. n. (male holotype in coll. Hayk Mirzayans Museum, Pest and Plant Diseases Research Institute [PPDRI], Tehran). This new subspeies differs from the nominotypical form by its dark yellow upperside of the wings, its larger discoidal patch and a broad dark submariginal pattern of the upperside of hindwings. The genetic data also support a well characterize subspecies of E. ziayani. The type locality of E. ziayani karkasica ssp. n. is situated about 500 km away from the solely known locality of E. ziayani ziayani (Mt. Tales, Zanjan prov., NW. Iran).
